Knights-Browne's Goal Not Enough as Hawks Fall at Villanova

VILLANOVA, Pa. — Junior Addrian Knights-Browne scored the lone goal for the Hawks, as the Hartford men's soccer team fell to Big East foe Villanova late, 2-1, at Higgins Sport Complex on Monday evening.

With the defeat, Hartford falls to 0-1-1 on the 2021 campaign, while Villanova remains undefeated on the season, improving to 1-0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Hartford wasted little time in getting its offense going Monday. Knights-Browne put Hartford on the board in the seventh minute, when he converted off the touch of fellow junior Demario Cameron for his first goal of the season, and second of his career.

The Hawks kept the Wildcats off the board until Anthony Dragisics lobbed a pass to Lyam Mackinnon, who buried it in the back of the net to knot the contest at 1-1 in the 25th minute. Neither team generated another score in the first half to bring the contest tied at the break.

Despite the field tilting in favor of the Wildcats' attach through the first 41 minutes of the second period, Hartford was able to keep Villanova off the board. However, Jorge Garcia drew a foul in the box and was awarded a penalty kick, which he converted to secure the 2-1 victory for the Wildcats in the 87th minute.
