SOUTH KENT, Conn. — Senior Jared Winiarz posed a career-best finish to lead the Hartford men's golf team at the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Winiarz posted an eighth-place finish over the three-round event as the Hawks took eighth among the 18-team field.

TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS

• Carding a 69 (-3) over the final 18, Winiarz finished the event career-best three-round score of 5-under 211
• His three-round total marked a career-best 54 hole score
• Graduate student Ryan Tomaso posted Hartford's second-best score to tie for 44th with a 9-over 225 
• Rookie Bryce Zimmerman, who shot a 71 (-1) in the second round, tied for 58th after combining for a 13-over 229
• Playing as an individual, senior Danny Frodigh used an even-par 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for 34th (6-over 222)
• UCF, which entered the final round with a comfortable 16-stroke lead, finished 35 strokes ahead of its nearest competitor (Seton Hall) with a 35-under 829
• Coming one stroke shy of a Bull's Bridge Golf Club course record in the final round with a 64 (-8), UCF's Johnny Travale earned the individual title with an 11-under 206
