ALBANY, N.Y. – The Hartford women's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision at UAlbany Thursday night. The Hawks fall to 9-3-1 on the season, while the Great Danes improve to 6-8-3 on the year.

UAlbany held the edge on the offensive side of the pitch in the first half, but Hartford's defense held the Great Danes at bay. Sophomore goalkeeper
Abigail McCarthy registered three of her nine saves on the evening during that stretch, as both teams were held scoreless at the halftime break.
The Hawks would apply more pressure on the offensive side to start the second half when junior captain
Christina Stone recorded the first shot on goal in the 51st minute. Junior defender
May Cervone nearly gave the Hawks the first lead of the game redirecting a corner kick from senior midfielder
Victoria Jedrychowski just high of the net. 10 minute later, sophomore forward
Juliana Chiarella intercepted a clearing attempt and blasted a shot on goal that would be saved by Megan Hart.
UAlbany would break through, scoring in the 81st minute when Emily Jozak capitalized on a one touch pass from Charlotte Takacsy. Despite a late rush and offensive attack, the Hawks would come up short, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Great Danes.
