Men's Basketball Falls at Home to UAlbany

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Junior Moses Flowers scored a team-high 11 points as the Hartford men's basketball team fell, 71-52, to UAlbany on Saturday afternoon. With the game tied at 29-29 at the half, UAlbany pulled away in the second half to take home the victory.
 
Hartford (5-14), dips to 3-4 in America East action. Led by 15 points from Jayden Martinez, UAlbany improves to 10-14 overall and 6-5 in the league.
 
UALBANY 71, HARTFORD 52
Hartford started the game hot as Hunter Marks and D.J. Mitchell gave the Hawks an early 5-0 lead. UAlbany would come back and tie the game at 5-5, before the two teams went back-and-forth, battling to a 9-9 tie at the 14:15 mark. The Great Danes began to form a gap, utilizing a 9-1 run to take a 15-10 lead, but an Austin Williams driving layup cut the Great Danes momentum. Williams would go on to knot the game up at 19-19 after draining a triple with 9:16 left in the first half. Neither side could pull away as Hartford and UAlbany entered the halftime break deadlocked at 29-29.
 
Both teams would trade buckets in the opening minutes of the second half, playing to a 38-38 deadlock with 13:18 to go. The Great Danes would start to pull away, using a 10-2 run to take a 48-40 lead. UAlbany continued to extend its lead before a Michael Dunne three at the 3:47 mark, ended the Great Danes 17-4 run. The deficit would prove to be too much for the Hawks, as UAlbany took home a 71-52 victory.
