NJIT 5, HARTFORD 0
Donnie Cohoon dug out a perfect bunt single on the first pitch of the game, to earn the Hawks first hit of the game. Despite the early offense, the Hawks failed to bring Cohoon across the plate in the opening frame. Starters, Tim Blaisdell and Grant Vurpillat were dueling, stifling the opposing offenses through six compete innings. The Highlanders lit up the score board first in the third giving NJIT a, 1-0 lead. Blaisdell was able to settle down after the mistake and shut down the NJIT's offense for the next three innings of work, including the fifth inning where he set down the side in order while striking out one batter. The deficit would grow to be too much for Hartford to overcome, dropping game two of the three-game series with a final score of, 5-0.
