UCONN 8, HARTFORD 3
Hartford would look to get on the scoreboard right away as Donnie Cohoon hit a leadoff single before stealing second base. Derek Tenney reached first on the next at-bat after a UConn error, but was thrown out at home, trying to score after a Ben Maycock single. The Huskies however, would strike first in the bottom half of the inning, taking a 3-0 lead after one. Hartford looked for the immediate response as Daniel Burnett and Kyle Hawes recorded back-to-back hits to lead off the second, but UConn would keep the Hawks off the scoreboard, holding a 6-0 lead after two.

Cohoon led off the top of the third, reaching on an error. With two outs, Maycock would step up to the plate looking to pull one run back for the Hawks. Slashing a single towards the second basemen, Cohoon would come home to score, cutting UConn's lead to 6-1.  However, the Huskies would go on to take an 8-1 advantage into the sixth inning.

Tremayne Cobb Jr. got things going in the top of the sixth, drawing a walk before stealing second. Burnett would then come to the plate, launching a RBI triple to left center, plating Cobb Jr. and pull the Hawks within six, 8-2. Burnett would come home to score in the next at-bat on a wild pitch. The deficit would prove too much for the Hawks though, falling to UConn, 8-3.
