OLD BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Sophomore Conor Byrne carded an even 213 across three rounds to finish in third place at the LIU Shark Invitational. The Hawks finished in fifth out of eight competing teams, combing for a 38-over 890 during the two-day event at Brookville Country Club.

TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS & NOTES

• Byrne had the best round of the tournament on Saturday, posting a minus-4 67 in the opening 18 holes
• The third-place finish was the best for a Hawk this season
• Ryan Tomaso had a solid tournament, tying for 15th after carding a 221 (+8) over the three rounds
• Manuel Romero rounded out the top-three for Hartford, finishing with a 16-over 229 to tie for 28th
• Kyle St. Pierre, who played as an individual, joined Tomaso and Byrne in the top-25, finishing in a tie for 23rd after posting am 11-over 224
• The hosts LIU took home the team title, finishing one stroke above Southern Illionis with a combined six-over 858
• Birgir Magnusson of Southern Illinois took home the individual title, posting three consecutive one-under 70 scores, to finish with a three-under 210
