UMASS LOWELL 6, HARTFORD 2
UMass Lowell would strike first, taking a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but starting pitcher Ryan LaPierre would settle in on the mound, not allowing a single hit over the next three innings. The Hawks offense reworded LaPierre's efforts, tying the game in the third inning. Cole would show patience at the plate, drawing a walk, allowing Rivera to cross the plate and tie the score at 1-1. However, the Hawks could not capitalize further and UMass Lowell would tack on two runs in the fifth, taking a 3-1 advantage.
