KENSINGTON, Conn. — Junior
Conor Byrne had a stellar opening weekend, finishing in fourth place to lead the Hartford men's golf team at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate. The Hawks finished in a tie for sixth place among the 17-team field.

TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTS & NOTES
- Byrne combined for a 6-under 136 across the two rounds
- After posting a 3-under 68 in the opening round, he carded another 3-under 68 in the final round to pace the Hawks
- Senior Manuel Romero had the best round of the tournament for the Hawks on the opening day, posting a 4-under 67
- Romero finished tied for 21st, combining for a 1-under 141
- Juniors Turner Wegener, who made his Hartford debut this weekend, and Michael Amari had solid weekends, as both finished tied for 40th after posting a 2-over 144
- Sacred Heart took home the team title after finishing with a team score of 273
- The tournament's top finisher came from the Pioneers, as Marcus Lim finished with a 10-under 132 across the two days

The Hawks return to action on Monday, Sept. 19, with the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Held at the picturesque Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Conn., the event stretches over two days.
