BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Hartford volleyball team dropped a doubleheader against LIU Saturday at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
Hartford (0-13) dropped the first match 25-11, 25-10, 25-9. Senior setter
Lika Nkenchor led the team six digs. She also produced six assists, one kill and one service ace. Senior outside hitter
Sara Gasparotto produced six kills and one block. Freshman setter Kylee Connally added seven assists.
The saw much improvement in the second match, still falling 25-15, 25-16, 25-19. Connally shined in the match, producing 10 assists in the second set alone. She ended the match with 19 assists total. The Dallas, Texas native also six digs and a service ace.
Junior outside hitter
Uzezi Ijoma led the team with seven kills and two solo blocks. Freshman libero Fabienne Rutten notched 10 digs. Freshman outside hitter Isabella Labrada contributed two service aces.
The Hawks have two matches remaining in their long-winded 15-match road trip. It continues against Bryant 6 p.m. Tuesday night at the Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, R.I.
