NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Senior
Manuel Romero continued to lead the Hartford Hawks with seven birdies Sept. 24-25 during The 46
th Macdonald Cup at The Course At Yale. Hartford finished 10
th overall with a total score of 1110 for the six-man team.

Romero, the reigning Big Sky Golfer of the Week, finished the tournament tied for 25
th on the individual leaderboard with a score of 216. Not far behind Romero, was junior
Conor Byrne with a score of 219 in a tie for 34
th. Byrne had a stellar third day, producing a score of 69 and one under par.
The Hawks strength came on par threes, which saw junior
Michael Amari tie for the fourth best score. Amari finished one under par with an average of 2.92 strokes on par threes. Byrne also finished in the top 10 on par threes, hitting even.
Byrne tied for fourth in the most pars. In the 54 holes, Byrne hit par 39 times.
The Hawks continue its 2022 fall season at the UConn invitational Oct.2-4 at Great Horse Golf Club in Hampden, Mass.
