HAMDEN, Conn. – The Hartford men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at in-state foes Quinnipiac this afternoon. With the result, the Hawks fall to 0-3 on the season while the Bobcats improve to 2-1.

Quinnipiac came out of the gates strong, scoring twice within the opening quarter of an hour to take the lead. The Bobcats would look to extend their lead moments later, but junior goalkeeper
Rotem Fadida would record a pair of outstanding saves to deny Quinnipiac and keep the score at 2-0. The Hawks looked to pull one back late in the first half, as junior forward
Alex Quinones ripped a shot from the top of the 18-yard box, but his effort was blocked, missing just wide of the goal as Quinnipiac entered the halftime break up, 2-0.
The Hawks would look to cut the gap early in the second half from a corner kick, as freshman midfielder Anthony Sansone saw his effort sail high of the crossbar. However, the Bobcats would tack on a third, converting on a penalty kick in the 63
rd minute. Sansone would try his luck once more in the 76
th minute, but his shot aimed towards the top right corner was stopped by the Quinnipiac goalkeeper. The deficit would ultimately prove too much, as Quinnipiac took home a 3-0 victory.
