HARTFORD 4, CHICAGO STATE 0
The Hawks wasted little time getting the offense started as sophomore Juliana Chiarella opened up the scoring in the third minute of the game. Junior Victoria Jedrychowski placed a free kick perfectly into the box where Chiarella could lift the ball over the goalkeeper for the first goal of the game. Less than three minutes later, Hartford would strike again off of the left foot of junior Imani Jenkins. Capitalizing on a through ball from Chiarella, Jenkins raced up the field and extended the Hawks lead to 2-0. Throughout the remainder of the first half play went back-and-forth in the middle third of the field with Hartford taking a 2-0 lead into the break.

Coming out into the second half, sophomore goalkeeper Abigail McCarthy looked to hold Chicago State off the board. In the 52nd minute, McCarthy would push a shot off the woodwork to keep the Cougars scoreless. Four minutes later, Jedrychowski lifted a corner kick into the crowd of attackers in front of the Chicago State net where Jenkins would find freshman Lindsey Metcalfe who would score her first career goal to extend the Hawks lead to 3-0. In the 65th minute, junior Christina Stone dished out a pass to Jenkins who maneuvered her way through defenders and blasted a shot into the back of the net from just outside the box.
