The 2023-24 season will be the inaugural foray into NCAA Division III action.
Â
"We are really excited to kick off Division III play with a competitive schedule within the Commonwealth Coast Conference and also with our out-of-conference schedule," said Toomey. "We play teams from some of the top conferences in D3 and look forward to challenging ourselves before CCC play begins."
Â
Hartford will play a full slate of Commonwealth Coast Conference opponents, however, those games will not officially count toward the CCC standing in the 2023-24 season.
Â
The Hawks will open the season with a home game 7 p.m. November 10, hosting Baruch College. After road games to Trinity (November 12) and Albertus Magnus (November 14), Hartford returns to the Chase Arena to host Northern Vermont-Johnson on November 21.
Â
Commonwealth Coast Conference action begins on November 29 as reigning CCC champion Nichols comes to West Hartford. Six consecutive road games, concluding on January 2, follow the CCC opener.
Â
Back-to-back home games against Western New England (January 4) and Endicott (January 6) begin the calendar year. The Hawks have home games against Suffolk (January 17), Gordon (January 20), Wentworth (January 27), Roger Williams (January 31), Curry (February 10), and the University of New England (February 17) as the season wraps up.
Â
Toomey will have one returner,
Isaiah Rice, on his first team. However, the Hawks have a pair of transfers, Trayon Rumley (D2 Bridgeport) and Beluolisah (D3 Amherst), to bring some collegiate experience to a team with 12 freshmen.
