Box Score WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – The University of Hartford men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss Friday to Eastern Connecticut State in non-conference action at Thomas Nevers Field.
The Warriors took the early lead with penalty kick in the sixth minute and then doubled the lead with a goal in the 30th minute. Eastern Connecticut State added second-half goals in the 53rd and 72nd minutes.
Hartford finished the game with six shots, one of which was on goal. Sophomore
Kode Smith had the lone shot on goal.
INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES
- Sophomore Mauricio Vega-Estades made his first career start in between the pipes. He finished with five saves on seven shots.
- Sophomore Ryan Lunn played the second half in goal, allowing two goals on three shots.
- It was the first meeting in 41 years between the teams. Hartford still holds the 5-4 lead in the series.
- Hartford was outshot 16-6, including 11-1 in shots on goal.
