MILTON, MASS. – The University of Hartford volleyball team earned a straight-set victory in their final Commonwealth Coast Conference road contest, beating Curry College 25-11, 25-10, 25-17, Wednesday in the Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
Hartford took control of the first set as freshman
Zahara Quraishi was at the helm of a 10-0 run as she tallied five aces during the run in which the Hawks went from a one-point lead to an 11-point advantage.
An 11-2 spurt was the pivotal moment in the second set as Hartford took control and never looked back. The Hawks gradually pulled away from Curry to secure the third and final set to secure the straight-set win.
Quraishi led the team with 15 kills and was tied with senior
Kionah Thomas for a team-high six digs. She came on strong following the first set with 11 kills with just one error in the final two sets.

- Quraishi has recorded at least two service aces in four of the last five matches.
- After back-to-back matches without a double-figure kills, Quraishi completed the statistical task for the ninth time this season.
- It's the second time Hartford has registered double-digit service aces, the other coming in the season-opening win over Merchant Marine Academy.
- Freshman Emilie Hatje finished with a career-high four service aces.
- Hartford has two straight-set wins in the last three matches.
- Freshman Liahnna Orange led the team with 10 assists. It marked the first time all season sophomore Kylee Connally hasn't recorded at least 10 assists.
- Freshman Jenna Murphy, who entered the game third in the CCC in blocks, finished with six blocks in the match.
