After trading goals through the first quarter and playing to a 2-1 contest at the end of the opening 15 minutes, the Hawks' offense opened the floodgates, outscoring the Dolphins 9-1 in the second quarter.

Six different goal scorers including freshmen duo Sara Costa and Courtney Ingham, sophomore captain Meghan Smith, junior Lenaijah Ferguson, and graduate students Lily Belle Baker and Emily Steele combined to give Hartford a commanding 11-2 lead heading into the halftime break.

With the snowfall not letting up, Hartford continued its momentum from the first half, tacking on three more goals in the second half of action, eventually earning a 14-3 victory.
