MANHATTAN 17, HARTFORD 6
Manhattan wasted little time getting the offense rolling, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead after the top of the first. Hartford would immediately respond with two runs in the bottom half of the first and three in the second. Noah Rivera's RBI double in the first was followed by a sacrifice fly from Harrison Engstrom to cut the deficit to 3-2. In the bottom of the second, Cameron Boardman drove home Ryan Melendez from third after reaching base on an error by the Jaspers pitcher to tie the game up at three apiece. Boardman's base knock would be followed by a two-run double down the left field line from Devin Kellogg, giving the Hawks a 5-3 lead. Manhattan answered back, tacking two runs on the board in the third, before regaining its lead at 6-5 after the top of the fourth. Kellogg continued his solid day at the plate, driving home Martin Chavarria with his second RBI double of the contest, tying the game up at 6-6. However, the Jaspers would regain their early momentum adding three runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and six in the ninth to earn the victory over the Hawks.
