BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Junior
Michael Amari posted his second top-10 finish of the spring season as the University of Hartford men's golf team placed sixth in the nine-team LIU Shark Invitational.
Amari finished eighth overall, shooting a five-over 215 over the three rounds. After shooting a one-under 69 in the first round, and an even-70 in the second round, Amari found himself in third place. However, he shot a six-over 76 with three birdies, nine holes of par, and four bogeys to fall five places. Amari finished with 13 birdies over the three rounds.
Sophomore
Kyle St. Pierre finished tied for 21st, shooting 13-over 223 for the tournament. He carded five birdies and 12 bogeys over the three rounds. Junior
John Guerrera placed tied for 24th with a 14-over 224 and sophomore
Bryce Zimmerman was one stroke behind with a 15-over 225 to place 27th overall. Zimmerman came into the final round in seventh place, but a 13-over 83 dropped him 20 spots. He shot an even-par 70 in the first round and a two-over 72 in the second round.
Junior
Turner Wegener finished with a 17-over 227, graduate student
Danny Frodigh finished with a 19-over 229, and junior
Conor Byrne finished with a 23-over 233.
Hartford rounds out the season at the three-day Big Sky Conference Championships, starting April 24th at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.
