Romero finishes tied for 16th at Big Sky Championships

PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Senior Manuel Romero turned in his best round of the tournament to move into a tie for 16th place as the University of Hartford men's golf team placed fifth in the 2023 Big Sky Conference Men's Golf Championship played at the Talking Sticks Golf Club.

Rivero rose seven spots with his one-under 69 in the final round. After bogeying the third round, Romero was consistent for the rest of the round. He birdied holes seven and nine and carded par on the other 15 holes.

Junior Conor Byrne and sophomore Kyle St. Pierre finished tied for 23rd overall.

Byrne carded a three-over 73 on the final round as he shot one-under 34 on the front nine with a pair of birdies in his first four holes. He bogeyed the fifth hole, and then added bogeys on rounds 10, 13, and 14, before a par on 15. He shot two over on the last three holes.

St. Pierre finished the third day with a five-over 75 as he carded a birdie on the front and back nine. He added seven bogeys, four on the front nine and three on the back nine. Junior Michael Amari carded his best round of the tournament with a four-over 74. He posted a birdie on the 15th hole and added five bogeys to conclude the tournament.

After posting the second-best round of the tournament with a five-under 65 Tuesday, junior John Guerrera carded a six-over 76 with six bogeys over the 18 holes.
