Imani Jenkins nets her second career hat trick as #12 Hartford opened Commonwealth Coast Conference competition with a 6-0 win over Roger Williams Saturday.
After senior
Christina Stone opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and then Jenkins found the goal for the first time 10 minutes later to lead Hartford to the 2-0 halftime lead.
Jenkins capped her the hat trick, and the Hartford scoring, with goals in the 73rd and 74th minutes.
Stone got the game's only assist as sophomore
Lindsey Metcalfe scored her first goal of the season following Stone's corner kick in the 61st minute.
Sophomore
Mira Mahmoud, in her first career start, earned a clean sheet with a pair of saves. It took 81 minutes before Roger Williams recorded a shot.
INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES
- Hartford recorded its second clean sheet of the season.
- Hartford held the 21-2 advantage on shots, and 14-2 in shots on goal.
- There were six offsides called in the game, all against Hartford.
- Jenkins now leads the team with seven goals and has scored in four of the team's five games.

"This was a great way to open up conference play," said Hartford women's soccer coach
John Natale. "Overall great team performance, and more importantly, it was a great response after dropping our game Wednesday night. Now, we look forward to Colby on Tuesday, so it's important that we recover and prepare for a great opponent."

It will be a quick turnaround for the Hawks as they travel to Waterville, Maine for a non-conference meeting with Colby College.
