WATERVILLE, ME – The University of Hartford women's soccer team, ranked 20th in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings, fell in non-conference action to Colby, 2-1.
The Mules scored a pair of goals in the final four minutes to pull off the upset.
Hartford took the lead in the 36
th minute as sophomore
Rebecca Opdenbrouw found the back of the net off a pass from senior
Imani Jenkins. The Hawks led for most of the game until Colby found the equalizer in the 86th minute.
A Hartford foul just outside the box set up the Mules for a free kick which was slid to the lower portion of the goal for the equalizer. More pressure from the Mules in the final stages of the game led to the game-winning goal in the 89th minute.
Sophomore
Sejal Johnson (3-1) made seven saves on nine shots in the match.
