Hawks End in 1-1 Draw at Curry College

MILTON, Mass. - The University of Hartford men's soccer team finished in a tie on Friday night against Curry College by a 1-1 final. The Hawks now sit 1-2-1 in the Conference of New England (CNE), while having a 7-2-2 overall record.

Rapid Recap:
  • The teams traded early chances to kick off the game with three saves for Brendan Cunningham for the Colonels and a pair of stops for junior Ryan Lunn (Southington, Conn.). The best chance in the first half came in the 34th minute as graduate student Alex Quinones (Bedford, N.H.) whipped a headed in, but Cunningham stayed strong with the save as the teams stayed 0-0 entering halftime. 
  • In the second half the Hawks finally got on the board in the 57th minute as junior Nick Castrovinci (Roxbury, N.J.) bested the Colonels on a feed from Quinones. Curry College would respond just four minutes later as Kaden Puglia knotted the score. Senior Kellijah Morgan (Kingston, Jamaica) tried to give the Hawks the lead in the 66th minute, but his shot was turned away. Noah Doyens had the last chance in the match in the 75th minute, but Lunn made the stop to hold the draw. 
Inside the Numbers: 
  • Castrovinci picked up his first goal of 2024 in the tie, while Quinones picked up his fourth assist of the year. 
  • Lunn made five saves in the net improving to 5-2-2 on the year.
  • Curry out shot Hartford by a 16-15 margin with the Hawks owning a 7-6 on target advantage.
