BOSTON, Mass. — Three players reached double figures as the University of Hartford men's basketball team fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Suffolk, 83-56, Tuesday at Smith Court.
Suffolk scored 15 consecutive points in six minutes midway through the first half to push a four-point lead to 19 points.
Freshman
Stephen Akwiwu finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds, while freshman
Kaosi Chijioke added 13 points, four rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Freshman
Joshua Petion came off the bench for 12 points.

- Akwiwu went 9-of-9 from the foul line, setting career highs in both categories. It was the most makes without a miss for any Hawk this season. He has now reached double figures in 16 games this season and eight straight.
- Hartford shot 90 percent (18-of-20) from the foul line, marking the highest percentage of the season. The last time the Hawks were this proficient from the charity stripe came December 2, 2022, against San Francisco (17-of-18, 94.4 percent)
- Hartford shot just 2-of-15 from three-point range.
- Freshman Jaylen Brown dished out a career-high three assists.
- Freshman Billy Donovan played a career-high seven minutes.
- Freshman Ezekiel Johnson played in 13 minutes, the most since his 14-minute effort in the season opener.

Hartford (6-16 overall, 4-11 CCC opponents) returns home to face Curry 3 p.m. Saturday for the Breast Cancer Awareness and Divine Nine Day. Hartford claimed the first meeting, 62-54.
