MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The University of Hartford baseball team notched the second win of their Spring Break trip with an impressive 10-5 victory over Fredonia University on Monday afternoon at the Ripken Experience's Polo Grounds.
The Hawks had their most productive inning in the eighth, scoring four runs. Freshman
Jack Durland capitalized on an error to score, while sophomore
Jackson Ciccone crossed the plate for the second time, courtesy of freshman
James Hinspeter's second RBI. Freshman
Alek Popovich and sophomore
Jeremy Mangiameli contributed with runs scored in the inning.
Hartford got on the scoreboard early as Popovich brought home sophomore
Cameron Boardman with a triple to left center field in the first inning. Freshman
Jon Melarzcik scored on a wild pitch in the second inning.

Tyler Blumetti contributed to Hartford's strong start, allowing just one hit and two runs over the first three innings. The Blue Devils didn't record a single hit in scoring its third-inning runs. They took advantage of three walks, a hit batter, and an error.
The Blue Devils managed to tie the game with two runs in the top of the fourth. However, Hartford responded swiftly, with Ciccone driving in freshman
Devin Bowen for Hartford's third run.
Over the next three innings, Hartford added three more runs while Fredonia scored just one.
Freshman
Jaden Fateman (1-0) earned his first career win with two innings of relief, allowing one run and one hit. Sophomore
Michael Featherstone picked up the save, pitching the last three innings and allowing three hits and two runs.
