MLAX Falls On The Road

WATERBURY, Conn. - Graduate Jake Ojert and senior Justin Pezzolesi each notched a pair of goals as the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team fell to Post University, 9-5 at LaMoy Field. 

Ojert scored a goal in the first and fourth periods, while Pezzolesi scored in the third and fourth periods. 

Post took control of the game with four straight goals, including all three of the second-period scores. The Hawks were able to close the gap by four goals in the fourth period, but ultimately fell 9-5 in the final minutes of the game. 

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES

  • Hartford finished with 40 shots, 23 of which were on goal, while Post had 44 shots with 27 on goal.

  • Hartford finished with one assist on five goals, while Post had five assists on nine goals. 

  • Freshman Ethan Hunt registered his team-high fifth assist 

  • Junior Griffin Weller tallied his second goal of the season. 

  • The Hawks were 20-of-23 in clear attempts, while the Eagles were 22-of-24 in clear attempts.

  • Faceoff specialists Ben Costanzo and Cameron James combined to win 9 of 16 faceoffs.

  • Sophomore Andrew Leibold registered 18 saves.
