Forgione Notches Career-High In Win

Freshman Nicholas Forgione notched a career-high five goals as the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team beat Lasell, 20-7, Saturday at Al-Marzook Field.

Forgione scored two goals in the second period and three in the fourth period, while adding an assist to Ethan Hunt in the fourth period. Sophomore Aidan Kemp and freshman Ethan Hunt each finished with three goals, while freshman Aidan Ezra and senior Justin Pezzolesi finished with a pair of goals. 

Hartford raced out to a 2-0 lead, and never trailed. The Hawks were able to extend the gap to four goals at the half, and got a comfortable seven-goal lead at the end of the third period.

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES

  • Hartford blew the game open by outscoring the Lasers 11-2 in the second half. 

  • Hartford finished with 49 shots, 34 of which were on goal, while Lasell had 22 shots with 13 on goal.

  • Hartford was 2-of-6 in extra-man opportunities and shut out the Lasers on four chances.

  • Face-off specialists Cameron James and Ben Costanzo combined to win 15 of 28 face-offs.

  • Graduate Jake Ojert and Kemp led the Hawks in playmaking, each registering three assists. 

  • Junior Griffin Weller and sophomore Eric Kelly scored their first goals of the season.

  • Sophomore Andrew Leibold defended the Hawks between the pipes, registering six saves.
