DUDLEY, Mass.- The University of Hartford baseball team dropped their fourth conference game against Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Nichols College, 13-3, Tuesday at Nichols Baseball Field.
Hartford raced out to the early lead as sophomore Jeremy Mangiameli hit his third home run of the season, a two-out shot to centerfield. An error allowed sophomore Cameron Boardman to reach and bring senior Jake Santiago – who doubled – around to score. After a walk to freshman Zayn Godbee, sophomore Ryan Melendez capped the scoring with an RBI single.
Nichols claimed the lead with five runs in the second inning and six more in the third. The Bison continued to score, scoring two more runs, one in the sixth inning and one in the eighth.
Freshman Anthony Bubba (0-3) allowed seven runs on eight hits with one strikeout. Freshman Alex Angelidis was the lone Hartford hurler to not allow a run, allowing two hits over 2.1 innings.
