WLAX Falls to RWU

The University of Hartford women's lacrosse team fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference regular season champion Roger Williams Saturday, 21-6, at Al-Marzook Field in Alumni Stadium.
 
Junior Meghan Smith and freshman Madison Olmstead scored two goals each with Olmstead and sophomore Sara Costa responsible for both Hartford assists.
 
Hartford trailed by one goal, 5-4, following the first period, but were held scoreless over the second and third periods before scoring the final two goals of the game.
 
Graduate Hanna Ramsey finished with nine saves for Hartford.

  • Prior to the game, the women's lacrosse program honored the contributions of seniors Brianna Benjamin and Lenaijah Ferguson.
  • For the first time this season in CCC action, Roger Williams trailed as Olmstead scored a little more than two minutes into the game.
  • The four goals in the first period were the most scored in the opening period against RWU in CCC action.
  • Hartford needs to beat Curry Tuesday to be eligible for the ECAC Tournament.
