Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Ojert Notches Game Winner

Graduate Jake Ojert scored his lone goal of the game with 5.5 seconds remaining to lift the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team to the comeback 10-9 victory Wednesday over Nichols College at Al-Marzook Field.

Freshman Aidan Ezra scored his last of a team-high three goals with 1:59 left to tie the game at nine. Nichols had a chance to take the lead after winning the following face-off, but missed a shot high and then turned it over.

Following the Hartford timeout, the Hawks executed to perfection as Ojert found the back of the net in the waning seconds.

Ezra scored goals in the first, third, and fourth periods while adding a pair of assists. Freshman Ethan Hunt finished with two goals, while sophomore Aidan Kemp finished with two assists.

Hartford trailed after the Bison scored five of the first six goals in the first period. The Hawks were able to then close the gap and take the lead 6-5 at the half. Nichols scored four goals in the third period to regain the lead 9-8 entering the fourth period.

The Hawks held Nichols scoreless in the fourth period, notching two goals which included the Ojert game-winner.
