Hawks Endure Tough Loss Against Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The University of Hartford baseball team lost to Babson College, 22-5,Tuesday afternoon at Govoni Field. 

    

Babson scored in five of their six turns at the plate, including a game-high seven-run third inning.  

Hartford scored four of its five runs in the fifth inning.Freshman Zaynn Godbee opened the inning with a walk, and then freshmen James Hinspeter and Payton West drew back-to-back two-out walks to load the bases.Senior Jake Santiago continued his RBI streak, with a two-run single.  

Sophomore Jeremy Mangiameli reached first on a fielding error, allowing Santiago and West to score.  

  

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES:          

  • Santiago and Godbee and freshman Josh Kaplan were the only three Hawks to record hits.   

  • Santiago extends his hitting streak to seven games, scoring runs in the last two games and earning two RBI over the previous three games.     

  • Godbee has started in seven games, recording hits in five of them.  

     

WHAT'S NEXT:          

Hartford (4-15-1) will travel to New London, Conn. to play Mitchell College in a nine-inning game 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
