Hawks Fall to Russel Sage 1-0

WEST HARTFORD, CONN - The Hawks took on the Gators of Russel Sage College at home on Wednesday night in which they fell 1-0.

Rapid Recap:
  • Hartford maintained a majority of the possession in the first half, putting five shots on net in the first half. In the eleventh minute, a miscommunication between sophomore Brayden Tahiliani (Whitby, Ontario) and goalkeeper, sophomore Christian Vitti (Stamford, Conn.) occurred and Russel Sage would take a lead on a Hartford own goal 1-0.
  • In the second half, the Hawks continued to maintain possession and their attack, but they were not able to put one in the back of the net, as they would end up losing 1-0.

Inside the Numbers:
  • Junior Austin Murawski (Rocky Hill, Conn.) lead the Hawks in shots with three shots, and one shot on goal. Sophomore Kyle Theobald (Sandyston, N.J) finished with two shots, and Senior Dom Femiak (Burlington, Conn.) finished with one shot on goal.
  • Hartford defense stayed strong, only allowing two total shots with one on goal, which resulted in a save for Vitti.
  • Hartford won the corner kick battle taking four more than the Gators (6-2).
  • The Hawks played a physical match with 15 fouls, to Russel Sage's eight.
