WILLIMANTIC, Conn. - The Hartford Hawks field hockey team hit the road and fell to the Eastern Connecticut State Warriors by the score of 6-0 on Wednesday.

Rapid Recap:

• ECSU came out firing in the first quarter, outshooting Hartford by a tally of 11-0. The Warriors were able to net three of those shots to take a commanding lead on the Hawks early. All of this came despite five saves in the net by freshman goal keeper Aubrey Paul (Verona, N.J.).
• Entering into the second, it would be more of the same as the Hawks were still unable to push across a shot. Eastern Connecticut State notched another goal on the scoreboard in the 25th minute as forward Emma Sanson scored her second goal of the contest to bring the score to 4-0.
• Coming into the second half, the Hawks looked to get some offense brewing; however, the Warriors' defense held strong, keeping the Hawks scoreless. Paul continued her formidable defense in goal, picking up five more saves in the quarter.
• In the fourth, Hartford was able to pick up their first shot of the day as senior midfielder Sara Costa (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) was able to get one on line. Unfortunately for the Hawks, the Warriors goal keeper Kate Paradise was able to save it, sealing the deal on the 6-0 shutout of the Hawks.

• In the frame, Paul made 13 saves in her 60 minutes of work.
• The Hawks were outshot 28-to-1 by the Warriors.
• It was a clean matchup as neither squad committed a penalty.
