WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford Women's Soccer team hosted Conference of New England (CNE) opponent Nichols College and took care of business, walking away with a dominant 7-0 victory. The Hawks improved to 10-3-2 on the season with a 5-3-0 record within the CNE.

Hartford came out of the gate firing in this one, out shooting the Bison 19-3 within the first 45 minutes of play. The freshman Sophia Coer (Thomaston, Conn.) got the scoring underway, sending in a goal off the assist by junior Morgan Egan (East Granby, Conn.) in the 11th minute. The Hawks were not done there however, as in just 54 seconds of game clock later senior Rebecca Opdenbrouw (Vernon, Conn.) sent home the second goal of the half for Hartford.

Coming out of half, the Hawks kept the pedal down sending home a staggering 5 more goals before the final buzzer. In the 57th minute, Coer assisted senior Cameryn Wilkinson (Wethersfield, Conn.) to make the score 3-0 on Wilkinson's 5th goal of the season. The Hawks would find their stride in the 65th minute sending home a 3 goals in 3 minutes with freshman Anastasia Nerney (Glocester, R.I.) picking up a goal in both the 65th and 67th minute and Opdenbrouw picking up her second goal of the game in the 66th. Senior Tara Martin (Suffield, Conn.) capped off the scoring in the 77th minute sending home her first goal of the season, capping off a statement win for the Hawks.

"We are always told to combine. We went into the half two nothing, we knew that if we combined a little bit more, we could definitely put the game away." Nerney said following her two goal performance.
