WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford men's soccer team picked up a crucial 3-0 win over Curry College to earn them hosting privileges this weekend as they kick-off Conference of New England (CNE) round one playoffs..

- The Hawks and Colonels started with a back and forth start challenging both goalkeepers. Senior Ryan Lunn (Southington, Conn.) made several key saves for the Hawks. Hartford broke through in the 25th minute when sophomore Cameron Tedesco (Old Saybrook, Conn.) set up junior Austin Murawski (Rocky Hill, Conn.) who buried his chance to give Hartford the early edge. The Hawks continued to push forward generating several corner opportunities and limiting the Curry's offensive push this half. The Hawks held their lead heading into halftime, 1-0.
- Junior Ron Palillo (Stony Brook, N.Y.) doubled the advantage for the Hawks in the 57th minute, finishing a well-worked play set up by teammate sophomore David Czubat (Rocky Hill, Conn.). Just six minutes later, Murawski struck again, burying a low finish off a pass from freshman Eddie Hageman (Colchester, Conn.) to make it 3-0. Hartford's defense remained organized and disciplined limited Curry's attack and allowing this win to be earned without an answer from the Colonels.
