WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District women's basketball teams were announced featuring sophomore
Ava Naszimento (Secaucus, N.J.) and sophomore
Taryn Blevins (St. Louis, Mo.) from the University of Hartford.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Women's Basketball Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests.
Naszimento had a stellar year for the Hawks averaging 8.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game in 2024-25. Ava was later recognized to the Conference of New England (CNE) All-Conference Third Team. Naszimento's best game of the season came on February 1st at Gordon College scoring a career-high 24 points to go with 11 rebounds. The sophomore center is a Elementary Education major.
Blevins played in all 26 games for the Hawks in 2024-25, averaging 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Taryn's best game of the year came on January 7th at Nichols College scoring a season-high 18 points to go with three rebounds and three assists. The sophomore guard is a nursing major.
