Hawks Fall in First CNE Contest to University of Saint Joseph (Conn.)

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford women's tennis kicked off its inaugural season in the Conference of New England (CNE) on Tuesday, falling to the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) by a 7-0 final. 

Rapid Recap:

  • The Hawks were bested in all three doubles matches. Graduate student Crystal Gallagher (Wallingford, Conn.) and senior Gabriella Carr (Springfield, Mass.) battled in #1 doubles falling in the tiebreaker (7-3). Sophomore Natalie Lamb (Glastonbury, Conn.) and sophomore Jessica Marks (Hartford, Conn.) took three sets in #3 doubles falling 6-3.
  • In singles play freshman Maddie Pearlman (New Hampton, N.Y.) came up close in #3 singles falling (7-5, 6-1). 
  • Sophomore Natalie Lamb (Glastonbury, Conn.) was the next closest Hawk falling (6-2, 6-2) in #6 singles.
