Hartford Drops Road Match 4-1 to Albertus Magnus College

Rapid Recap:

  • The Falcons jumped out early when Lorenzo Lauria found the back of the net in just the 4th minute of play to give the team a quick lead. The Hawks worked to settle in but continued to be hard pressed by the Falcons. Foul trouble disrupted both teams with nine fouls committed in just the first 20 minutes. Albertus capitalized in the 33rd minute off of a physical play as the Hawks junior Ron Palillo (Stony Brook, N.Y.) was issued a yellow card the Falcons slotted one home. The Falcons held their 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
  • The second half brought more intensity for both teams. Just six minutes after the whistle for the restart Falcons forward Rafael Antonio extended the lead 3-0. Hartford was not done yet as sophomore David Czubat (Rocky Hill, Conn.) stepped up and rose above the Falcons defense to score on a cross from senior Jack Merrill (Newton, N.J.) bringing the score to 3-1. As Hartford searched for more in the final minutes discipline definitely became a factor Merrill was shown a red card in the 78th minute leaving the Hawks a man down.
