PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Hartford women's tennis debuted for the first time in 10 years on Saturday falling to Rhode Island College 6-1. 

Rapid Recap:

• The Hawks were bested in all three doubles matches. Graduate student Crystal Gallagher (Wallingford, Conn.) and senior Gabriella Carr (Springfield, Mass.) fell by a 6-1 margin, while the 2nd and 3rd pairs lost 6-0. 
• In singles play freshman Maddie Pearlman (New Hampton, N.Y.) picked up the first point in a decade for Hartford tennis winning in a thriller tie-breaker over Emilia Houwers (7-5, 6-7, 10-8) in #3 singles. 
• Sophomore Natalie Lamb (Glastonbury, Conn.) was the next closest Hawk falling (6-1, 6-2) in #6 singles. 

Up Next: 
The Hawks will start conference play on September 16th at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford.
