NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – On Tuesday evening, the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) announced its weekly team of the week with junior Ava Naszimento (Secaucus, N.J.) being named to the second team.
Naszimento averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals for the Hawks in just 22 minutes a game this week as the Hawks finished 1-1. Ava tallied 18 points, five rebounds and three assists for Hartford on January 20th in an overtime loss to Roger Williams before scoring 10 points to go with four boards and three assists in a 68-37 win at Wentworth.
So far this season Naszimento is averaging a career-high 13.2 points per game, while also contributing 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
The Hawks women's basketball team is back in action tonight at 5:30 PM against Western New England University.
