Wenham, MA — The Hartford women's tennis team fell to Gordon College, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon in conference play.

Hartford Women's Tennis dropped all three doubles matches to open the morning match up. The pairing of graduate student Lia Gosselin (South Bend, Ind.) and junior Victalia Z. Deida (New Haven, Conn.) fell to Lucille Belval and Makayla Otey, 6-1, as they were the only Hawks to score a point. Meanwhile freshman Isabelle Simino (Franklin, Mass.) and sophomore Maddie Pearlman (New Hampton, N.Y.) were defeated by Amanda Kim and Serena Ross, 6-1, in doubles. Junior Jessica Marks (Hartford, Conn.) and graduate student Lora Acquario (East Nassau, N.Y.) dropped their doubles match, 6-0, to Abigail Goodwin and Chloe Hanley

In singles play, the Fighting Scots continued their afternoon play by earning straight-set victories in all six of their matches over Hartford. Gosselin put together Hartford's closest singles match falling to Chloe Hanley, 6-0. However, within the next set Gosselin battled hard as she was then able to score five points but then eventually fell 7-5.

Marks also competed well in her contest as she dropped her set 6-3, 6-0 to Katherine Kim. Simino fell to Abigail Goodwin, 6-1, 6-2, in singles, while Deida, Acquario and Pearlman each were defeated 6-0, 6-0 by Makayla Otey, Gianna Hallam and Serena Ross, respectively. With the result, Hartford moves to 1-5 on the season, while Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-3.
