WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Hartford Women's Soccer took on the Trinity College Bantams for the first time in their history in a cross-town tie where the Bantams would stun the Hawks 1-0.

- Early on neither team could get anything going with only two shots being attempted by the Bantams. The Bantams would gain the first edge in the first, having 7 shot attempts. Hawks freshman Goalkeeper Madelyn Nunnemacher (Sutton, Mass.) would stop all three Bantam shots on goal in the first half.
- The second half was most of the same to start until the Bantams ramped up the tempo but they would be stopped by Nunnemacher once again, who made two great saves in the 63rd and 64th minute to keep it scoreless. The Bantams would keep up the pressure and finally breakthrough in the 67th minute from a tap in at the back post by Iva Carton. Hartford would respond with high pressure from corners but were unable to put the ball in the back of the net. On a counter attack in the 72nd minute the Bantams caught the Hawks flat footed and were in on a goal but were stopped by Nunnemacher for her ninth save of the night. The Hawks would threaten again but would not score in the final minutes as the Hawks dropped their first game of the season by a score of 1-0.

- Nunnemacher made a career high 9 saves despite the loss.
- Senior Kathleen Brush (Wethersfield, Conn.) took 3 of the Hartford 8 shots, with all of them being on goal. The Hawks only managed 4 shots on goal the entire game.
- The Hawks would total 7 corners but would fail to score.
