BEVERLY, Mass. - The Hartford softball team ended its 2026 season on Friday afternoon falling to #1 Endicott College in the Conference of New England (CNE) semifinals by a 13-3 score. The Hawks conclude the season with a 21-20 record with three CNE wins after being the #5 seed.
Rapid Recap:
- The Gulls jumped ahead early getting four runs in the top of the first on five hits and two defensive errors. Hartford would get a single run back as junior Adelie Beebe (Sacramento, Calif.) lofted a sacrifice fly to score freshman Alina Weaver (Nazareth, Pa.). Endicott kept it rolling in the second getting two more runs in the second and four more in the top of the third to take a 10-1 advantage.
- The Hawks would not go down without a fight getting a pair of runs in the bottom of the third on a two RBI double by senior Anita Farkash (Seaford, N.Y.) to trim the deficit to 10-3. The Gulls would get three more runs in the top of the fourth to extend the lead further to 13-3. Hartford could not produce another run to fall by the mercy rule score of 13-3 after five innings.
In the Circle:
- Senior Carly Mayhood (Newton, N.J.) picked up the loss tossing a single inning allowing four runs with a strikeout. Sophomore Ella Zobel (Clarence, N.Y.) was next allowing two runs in a lone inning. Junior Alex Hassett (Granby, Conn.) allowed four unearned runs in the third inning, while junior Gracie Hopkins (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) tossed the final two innings with three runs (one earned).
- Emma Sheehan got the start for Endicott going two innings allowing two unearned runs. Analise Grady got the win throwing the remaining three innings with two strikeouts.
At the Plate:
- Sophomore Eryn Coyle (Monroe, N.Y.) led the offense going 2-for-2. Beebe added a 1-for-1 performance with the RBI and a walk. Farkash added the lone extra base hit with a pair of RBIs.
- Endicott totaled 15 hits in the win with only three extra base hits. The Gulls will advance to the championship to take on #2 Roger Williams University needing to win two games.
