WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Hartford women's tennis team opened the 2026-27 season on Saturday falling to Rhode Island College 7-0.

- The Hawks were bested in all three doubles matches. Junior Victalia Deida (New Haven, Conn.) and graduate student Lia Gosselin (South Bend, Ind.) put up a close fight at doubles, falling 6-3, while the 2nd and 3rd pairs lost 6-1.
- In singles play, Gosselin made an impressive season debut, putting together Hartford's closest singles match before falling to Arianna DeThomas (6-3, 6-0).
- Graduate student Lora Acquario (East Nassau, N.Y.) was the next closest Hawk falling to Ivy Par (6-2, 6-2) in #6 singles.
