Worcester, MA - The University of Hartford women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision on the road at Holy Cross on Tuesday afternoon. The women's team was led by newcomer Kara Pease who picked up the Hawks first dual match singles win of the season.
Pease defeated her second singles opposition Emma Rudnik by 6-3, 6-1 scores for her first collegiate dual match singles victory. Pease has won at singles in tournament play at the Siena Invitational in September.
Also playing well in singles action was Kasey Michels in the first singles match. She dopped a 6-1, 6-3 decision to Kristen Meahl. In doubles play, the Hawks were led by Pease and Nikki Haynal who fell by an 8-3 margin to Emily Marr and Carolyn Chandley.
The women's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, October 11 for the opening day of the New England Championships.
