Providence, RI - The University of Hartford women's tennis team fell in its first road match of the season, 7-0 at Providence. The Hawks are now 0-2 on the season.

Hartford's number two doubles team saw the only victory. Nikki Haynal and Kara Pease defeated Jen Cusack and Meghan Gilroy, but needed an extra set to do so. The two combined for a 9-8 (7-3) victory, the first doubles victory of the season.

Haynal and Kasey Michels saw the most success in singles play. Michels, playing in the number one position, dropped her singles match to Ayushi Sinha by scores of 6-2, 6-3. Haynal fell at number three singles by scores of 6-3, 6-2 to Melanie Albert.

The women's tennis team will next play in the Siena Tournament this Saturday and Sunday in Loudonville, NY
