Men's Soccer Suffers First America East Loss by 4-1 Final to New Hampshire

BOX SCORE

Durham, NH – The University of Hartford men's soccer team suffered its first America East loss of the season by a final score of 4-1 on the road against the New Hampshire Wildcats. Hartford's only goal came in the 88th minute from senior Kevin Hall off an assist by Jorge Rodriguez.
The Hawks are now 5-6-1 overall, standing at 2-1-1 in America East action. The Wildcats continue their hot-streak with the win, improving to 6-5-1 overall with a perfect 3-0-0 mark in the conference standings.
The Wildcats received offense from four different players. Senior Chris Banks, the reigning America East Co-Player of the Week, started the attack for New Hampshire, scoring what proved to be the game winner in the 22nd minute. He used a pass from Brad Hilton to notch his fourth game deciding goal. The senior has netted the game-winning goal in three-straight Wildcat victories.
A little more than two minutes later, the Wildcats struck again and doubled their lead when Josh Bronner sent a second shot attempt into the right corner of the net from the same side of the box. Joe Corsello started the play when he deflected his shot off a Hartford defender, allowing Bronner to track down the rebound and net his first goal of the season at 23:45.
New Hampshire's Jordan Thomas added an insurance in the 35th minute when he connected with Dylan George for the third score of the game. George found Thomas open on the right side and sent him a pass from the top of the box. Thomas deposited the shot into the left side of the net, scoring his third goal of the season.
The Wildcats put their final notch on the scoreboard at 51:55 as Charlie Roche set up Dylan George for his first goal of the season.
Hartford saw the scoreboard light up in the 88th minute when Hall, a forward, notched his first goal of the season. Sophomore Rodriguez provided the pass to make Hall's goal possible when he struck the ball to the far post, finding Hall who tapped it in the right corner.

The Hawks outshot the Wildcats in the final 45 minutes, 10-9, and finished just behind in the shots column with 17 attempts to New Hampshire's 19. Classmates Carlos Villa and Hall led Hartford's attack with three shots each.
The Hawks return to Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium for their next game on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. when they host the Binghamton Bearcats. Last season, Hartford suffered its first America East loss to the Bearcats, falling 1-0 in Vestal, NY.
