WEST HARTFORD, Conn.—The University of Hartford women's tennis team hosted Providence College for an afternoon matchup to close out its fall schedule. The Hawks dropped a 7-0 result to the Friars at home on Monday afternoon.
In the top singles post, senior
Katina Zampas fell behind in the first set, but mustered four game wins in the second set before dropping a 6-0, 6-3 result. Freshman
Emily Sneddon had a similar match at the No. 2 position, picking up three games in the second set of a 6-0, 6-3.
In the No. 5 slot, sophomore
Colleen Beck won four total games while freshman
Madeline Makings picked up three games at No. 4.
In doubles play, Zampas and Beck battled in the top slot for the Hawks, but came up short by an 8-3 count.
The Hartford women are off until they resume the 2013-14 schedule in February.
