RESULTS AMHERST, Mass.— Competing in their first multi-meets as collegians, freshman
Lauren Bossi and sophomore
Maggie Fuller of the University of Hartford women's track and field team represented the Hawks at the UMass Multi Meet Thursday and Friday at the Amherst, Mass., campus.
After the Holy Cross Multi Meet, scheduled for earlier in the week, was canceled due to weather, the Hawk pair was able to enter into the UMass meet. Competing in seven events, Bossi finished fourth overall with 3,518 points while Fuller put up 3,022 points to take seventh.
"The multis require a different mindset and focus than open events in a regular meet," send second-year assistant coach Aimee Dawson. " With that said, I am very pleased with their efforts the past two days."
Those efforts included a pair of career bests for Bossi and five career bests for Fuller.
Bossi leapt to 4.06 meters in the long jump while posting a mark of 19.92 meters in the javelin. Fuller posted collegiate career bests in the 100-meter hurdles (18.31), 200-meter dash (29.88), 800-meter run (2:36.77), shot put (7.41 meters) and long jump (4.32 meters).
Bossi and Fuller finished second and third, respectively, in the 800 meters. The pair also finished second (Fuller) and third (Bossi) in the high jump.
