THE LEAD:
Chad Lee allowed just four hits in eight innings, striking out five, to lead Stony Brook to a series-opening victory over the Hartford baseball team on Friday.

Jack Parenty went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI for the Seawolves, while Jeremy Giles scored three runs. Casey Baker had a three-hit day as well.

Erik Ostberg ran his hitting streak to eight games in a losing effort, going 1-for-3 with a walk for Hartford.
David Drouin was carded with the loss, allowing just one run in going three innings for the Hawks.
HOW THEY SCORED
• Stony Brook got on the board first with an RBI groundout in the top of the first off Drouin.
• Drouin settled in at that point, putting zeroes on the board in the second and third before giving way to
John Mormile.
• Chad Lee was just as strong on the mound for the Seawolves, though, working his way out of jams in the third and fourth to keep it a 1-0 score.
• SBU added two in the top of the fifth, one earned, off Mormile, one on a groundout and one on a sac fly.
• The Seawolves pushed the lead to 5-0 when Parenty hit his first home run of the year, a two-run shot, with two down in the seventh.
• SBU added three runs in the top of the eighth and a solo tally in the top of the ninth to push the lead to 9-0.
• Tim Knesnik closed out the game with a scoreless inning for the Seawolves.
